Crossing Over Explored

There are paranormal groups, and the clairvoyant that have claimed to cross spirits of the dead over to the next realm. Some of the paid haunts take it so seriously that they have wording in the rules, and releases not to cross their spirits over. Some claim the spirits are lost and need help to cross. I have always been curious about the whole crossing over part, and had numerous questions such as,

1.      Crossing over to where, exactly?
2.      If the spirit crosses and it is too warm there, can the spirit cross back?
3.      What are the rituals involved in this crossing?
4.      How do you know if the spirit crossed?
5.      Finally yet importantly, does the spirit have to go?

I have never had much luck getting answers to these questions, until recently while browsing the internet. I came across a link to a blog about ghost hunting. I am always interested in reading what other teams are doing. Just from the equipment used and evidence collected can speak volumes about the team. While reading the blog I came across a conversation about evidence review. The blogger mention how they crossed some spirits over. Playing the novus, I asked my first question.

Q: I am confused where are the spirits crossing over too? Do the spirits know where they are going after the “crossing”? Why do the spirits need your help?

A: There are many different belief systems out there, so I will attempt to answer this without offending anyone. From my experience and from the communications I have received though my investigations, people are supposed to cross over when they die. Where do they cross over too? There are many beliefs about this as well. Some call it Heaven; others believe it is just another dimension. Either way, they are supposed to move on. The ones who choose to stay behind tend to be very unhappy. Homeowners will have items moved around their houses; have doors slam, or other activity. During our investigation, we often get direct cries for help. Some of them seem to get lost and need help finding their way. We have several talented psychics we work with who help us with this. They are able to communicate with them and help them find their way. Afterwards, the homes are quiet and the activity diminishes.

Q: So this is a ritual process, or does the psychic tell the spirit to leave, go into the light? You know they crossed, when it is calm, or is there more of an event? Can they come back after crossing?

It is an interesting subject.

A: I find it fascinating as well. The psychic medium does most of what they do quietly. It depends on the person and how they typically work. They simply have a conversation with the spirit and convince them to move on. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. It just depends on whether or not the spirit wants to pass. Afterwards, if it worked it is very quiet and the activity ceases. If it does not work and it is a disruptive, negative entity, then the measures become more aggressive and they force it to leave.

Q: The forcing to leave part is that a ritual of some type, such as a blessing, cleansing, or something more severe? If that does not work, then what Move!

A: For the negative entities, one psychic called on members of her coven (she is also a witch) to do a banishing ritual. Another one used a group of mediums to form an energy circle to force the entity to leave.

After reading all of this, I feel comfortable in saying that the paid haunts have absolutely nothing to worry about unless you believe in witches and mysticism that is. Then again, you also have to believe that ghosts not only exist, but magick has some influence over them. It would also be a good idea to embrace the concepts of heaven, and hell so there would be some place to cross over too.

Then there is that one other problem that has become more and more apparent, and that if the paid haunt is haunted at all or just made up stories meant to capitalize on the current fad.
