Originally founded in 2005 formerly known as California Ghost Chasers CGC in the early days of reality paranormal TV. As serious minded researcher we became disillusioned with the make-believe that was being propagated from those very shows.

In 2011 the Institute Of Spectrological Research was formed as a private organization established to study anomalous spectrological phenomena based on observation, experimentation, and the systematic collection of data. Educating the public on the unexplained by providing alternative explanations to what people are mistakenly assuming as paranormal.

Since then we have expanded our knowledge of both the explained, and unexplained and have published our results. We have successfully researched over 500 cases, our databases stores over five terabytes of data. We have developed our own methods of research, procedures, and technologies from a decade of study. Members of our organization are trusted technical and medical professionals including a well-known physicist. Most of our members have had experience in dealing with unexplained occurrences throughout their lives.

The question, is there life after death, and if so at what level of existence. Our mission is to document links between phenomena that has been associated with the activities of Ghosts, to a once living human being.

The overwhelming data from a decade of research, leaves us to hypothesize that a large part of our consciousness can exist long after the death of our physical host. We have tested the cognitive boundaries of what has been determined to be the consciousness from an once living human being based on historical records and the lineage of the sites.
